Why it made the list

NXPT Fitness’s Murphy Canyon Road location has a smaller review count than most of our top ten, but its members rate it about as highly as any gym in San Diego County. Our ranking method deliberately gives smaller gyms a fair shot once they have enough reviews to show a real pattern, and this location clears that bar.

NXPT runs several locations across the county — our directory also lists gyms in Chula Vista, La Mesa and the Santee area — so members have options closer to home or work. The Murphy Canyon location sits in the Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa corridor, convenient to the I-15 and SR-163 commuter routes.
